New Atiku Abubakar campaign posters, with ‘The real and the right’ message, have surfaced in some areas in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Atiku, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria’s February 23 presidential election, is challenging the outcome of the poll at the presidential election tribunal.
President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner of the poll by the country’s electoral umpire, INEC.
The posters, which contain ‘Pukka’, – a Hindi word meaning ‘Genuine’, emerged after an alleged report that Atiku engaged two cerebral lawyers in Washington DC, United States, to influence the American government to recognise him as the winner of Nigeria’s February 23 election.
She advised the former vice president to pursue his election petition at the Tribunal rather than commit to actions that may land him in jail for treason.
However, findings indicate that the posters were sponsored by an Adamawa-based political support group for Atiku, the Atiku Deservation Movement.
