There should be a review of the reward system for journalists in Nigeria to be able to carry out their work rightly, says Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Concise News understands that Osinbajo said this on Monday at an Editorial Conference on Legal and Ethical Issues in Investigative Reporting in Nigeria, organised by the Daily Trust Foundation in conjunction with MacArthur Foundation and Center for Media Law and Development.
According to him, when the reward system is low, journalists will not perform their duties with integrity.
He, therefore, called on the Nigerian media to continue to hold the government accountable through investigative journalism.
Also, he expressed sadness that investigative journalism has been abandoned in the country.
