Candidates preparing to sit for the WAEC-organised West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), and the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organised by JAMB have frowned at the clash in dates set by both bodies.
The candidates asked the two examination bodies to reach understanding for the sake of students’ future.
Concise News learned that some WASSCE subjects are scheduled to be taken on the same day that a crucial UTME subject will also be taken.
Candidates for WASSCE exams are expected to write Animal Husbandry by 9.00am on Thursday, 11th of April, 2019, while some of them are also expected to sit for their UTME examination on the same day and at the same time.
“The first day (11/4/19) to write JAMB had already been scheduled by WAEC for animal husbandry exam and some two other days for other subjects,” Siddiqah Olatope, a candidate, lamented.
“Many candidates would be affected, parents and guidance are crying in silence.
“They should be rescheduled for affected candidates.”
