Odion Jude Ighalo scored his 40th Chinese Super League goals in Shanghai Shenhua 5-1 thrashing of Beijing Renhe.
The Nigerian forward started his fourth league game with two goals in the opening half-hour having scored in his last two league outings.
With his brace, Ighalo has now scored 40 league goals since joining the Chinese Super league in 2017 from Watford.
The 29-year-old scored 15 goals in his debut season before netting 21 last season and four more this term to rack up 40 goals in 60 appearances.
Concise News reported that the former Watford striker opened his scoring account for his new club, Shanghai Shenhua in a 2-1 win against Henan Jianye.
