Court Strikes Out Case Demanding Nullification Of Adamawa Gov Polls

A case brought by the governorship candidate of the Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy, Eric Theman, seeking the nullification of the Adamawa governorship election was on Friday dismissed by a Yola High Court.

Justice Abdulazeez Waziri dismissed the case for lack of evidence.

Following the supplementary election held on Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Ahmadu Fintiri, as the winner of the Adamawa election.

Fintiri polled 376,552 votes to defeat incumbent Governor Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress, who got 336,386 votes.

Concise News understands that the total votes cast was 899,097, out of which 871,307 votes were valid while 27,790 votes were invalid.
