The leadership, members and supporters of the opposition PDP should be licking their lips following their party’s defeat of the ruling APC in all the 14 local government areas where supplementary governorship election took place in Adamawa state, northeast Nigeria, Thursday.
Nigeria’s electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), conducted the poll in 44 polling units across the 14 areas, after declaring the March 9 governorship election in the state inconclusive.
Following the collation of supplementary election results on Thursday, the candidate of PDP, Ahmadu Fintiri, polled 10,480 votes, while Governor Jibrilla Bindow of APC got 1391 votes.
Concise News understands that there is a margin of 9,089.
The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Andrew Haruna, announced an hour break to collate the final results before declaring the winner.
