Another Building Collapses In Lagos

A three-storey building on Monday, March 25th, collapsed in Lagos Island, Lagos State.

According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), no one was trapped in the rubble of the latest collapse.

Concise News reports that security operatives and emergency workers arrived at the scene to ensure other residents were safe and that the rubble were disposed of properly.

This event is occurring barely two weeks after another building on same Lagos Island collapsed on Wednesday, March 13th, trapping more than 100 persons including pupils of a nursery and primary school located on the last floor of the building.

The building was located on the crowded Itafaji street within the heart of Lagos Island.

Thousands of residents and many emergency workers descended on the scene and tried to rescue people from the building, but some remained trapped and witnesses gave early death toll figures to be between eight to nine.

Lagos State Government (LASG) later confirmed that a total of 20 people were killed following the collapse of the three-storey building.
