Premier League side Watford have booked a place in the semi-finals of the English FA Cup after defeating another Premier League Crystal Palace 2-1 at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
Andre Gray, who came on as a Second-half substitute, scored the winning goal for the Yellow Army just two minutes after coming on.
The Hornets had earlier taken the lead through Etienne Capoue’s instinctive finish before Michy Batshuayi restored parity for the Eagles, finishing coolly after dispossessing Adrian Mariappa.
After retaking the lead, the hosts looked the likelier side to score as Troy Deeney saw an effort well saved and Aaron Wan-Bissaka made a crucial intervention to keep out Gerard Deulofeu in the closing stages.
Javi Gracia’s Watford has now beaten Palace three times this season, having done the double over them in the Premier League.
