The Blues had the job done at Stamford Bridge, defeating the Ukranian side 3-0, which put Maurizio Sarri’s side in a comfortable position.
Kiev were without their key attacker Benjamin Verbic and Fran Sol as the Ukranian side did not register a single shot on target but were invincible in their last match in the domestic league.
They defeated neighbours Arsenal Kiev 4-0 in a derby match over the weekend.
But Chelsea struggled to earn a point in their English Premier League match against Wolverhampton on Sunday.
Eden Hazard’s 92nd minutes effort rescued the draw for the Blues.
