Ambode Speaks On Sanwo-Olu's Election Victory

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has congratulated Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for emerging winner of the state governorship election.

Concise News reports that Sanwo-Olu garnered 739, 445 votes to defeat Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 206, 141 votes.

The governor in a message on his official Twitter page ascribed Sanwo-Olu’s victory to the APC and Lagosians.

Recall that Ambode won his Epe Local Government Area for the APC in the Saturday’s elections, with Sanwo-Olu in a landslide win in 11 Local Governments.

Babatunde Adeoye, the Collation Officer in the Local Government (Epe), says the APC scored 35, 609 votes to defeat the PDP, which polled 6, 464.

Ambode said, “Hearty congratulations to the Lagos State Governor-Elect, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat. This is a victory for continuity in governance, victory for the APC and victory for all Lagosians. I wish them a successful term in office.”
