Babajide Sanwo of the All Progressives Congress has emerged as the new governor of Lagos state, south west Nigeria, after recording a resounding victory in the 2019 governorship election.
The APC candidate defeated his main rival, PDP’s Olujimi Agbaje, 739,445 to 206,501 to emerge as the winner of the poll.

Popular Nollywood Actor Wins Lagos State Assembly Seat
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Nollywood star, Desmond Elliot, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the Surulere 1 state Constituency election in Lagos State.
Elliot emerged winner with 15,357 votes, while Benjamin Olasunkanmi, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 3,628 votes. Click for details.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has won his Epe Local Government Area for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Jide Sanwo-Olu, in the Saturday’s elections, with Sanwo-Olu in a landslide win in 11 Local Governments.

Jimi Agbaje Speaks After Casting Ballot
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje, has cast his vote in Apapa area of the state.
Speaking after voting, Agbaje said if the issues of card readers keep happening it may disenfranchise people from the process of exercising their civic right.
He urged voters not to be discouraged as he urged them to go out and cast their votes.
“Advance democratic system is when the citizen know that their votes count,” he stated.
Agbaje also said he has not heard of issues relating to violence, ballot box snatching, intimidation so far in the exercise.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu Casts Ballot, Boasts Of Victory
The governorship candidate of the APC Babajide Sanwo-Olu has cast his vote for the gubernatorial election.
Concise News understands that Sanwo-Olu cast his vote alongside his wife at the Lateef Jakande/Femi Okunnu Polling Unit in Ikoyi.
He described the Election Day as divine and expressed confidence that he would win the polls.
He expressed satisfaction with the process, adding that the Independent National Electoral Commission had done “a fairly good job, in terms of logistics.”
Remi Tinubu Speaks After Casting Vote
Remi Tinubu, the wife of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence that the party will do well in the governorship and House of Assembly election.
Concise News understands that Remi had two weeks ago won re-election to the Senate in Lagos State.
Speaking after casting his vote at his polling unit, Ward 9, Ikoyi in Lagos State, Tinubu praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a seamless exercise.
According to the lawmaker, the electoral umpire has not disappointed Lagosians and said the APC will be victorious in the poll.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC will fight Jimi Agbaje’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), among others, for the seat.
