The Founder and General Overseer of the Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has ruined the intimidation of voters by thugs during the presidential election.
Bishop Oyedepo whose church is also called the Living Faith Church, lamented that why other nations have adopted safer means of voting, Nigeria is still battling with thuggery.
Concise News understands that there were some violence in Lagos State and other parts of the country during the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 23rd.
President Muhammadu Buahri was announced as the winner of the polls after beating Atiku Abubakar, his closest rival.
Speaking about the exercise, Oyedepo, during the church’s service on Sunday, also cursed those intimidating voters and causing violence in elections in Nigeria.
“Other developed countries around the world had developed their mode of voting into a digitised method, but it’s a shame that in Nigeria, we still queue up to vote, and somebody would still be intimidated by thugs,” he said.
“With these, it’s a shame how politicians in this part of the world are proud of elections marred with rigging.”
He, however, said: “Every spirit of thuggery in Nigeria shall be silenced and every forces that would not let Nigeria rest shall be laid to rest and silenced forever.”
He also added that “In Covenant University, any student caught indulging in examination malpractice, is gone. It does not matter if his or her father is the head of United Nations or not.”
