Mixed reactions have trailed President Muhammadu Buhari‘s victory in the 2019 Presidential election after being declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Concise News reports that the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the 2019 presidential election.

Yakubu made the declaration at the National Collation Centre in Abuja at about 4:38 am on Wednesday.

Buhari polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat his main rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 11,262,978 votes. That is a difference of 3.9 million votes.

The commission pronounced Buhari as winner after receiving election results from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

With this development, Buhari 76, will serve for another four years when his current tenure expires on May 29, 2019.

President Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo are expected to receive their Certificates of Return at 2 pm today (Wednesday).

And after being declared the winner, supporters of the President took to the social media to congratulate.

But some accused the APC and the President of manipulating the figures of the poll.
