The City of Houston has proclaimed February 24 as American rapper Meek Mill day. Meek Mill Day was named after himself in the city of Houston.
The proclamation took place at the Revention Music Centre on Saturday, February 23, where he performed.
Meek Mill was honoured on Saturday night shortly after the end of his Motivation Tour.
Recall that, the Philadephia born rapper was sentenced to two to four years in state prison in 2017 for violating parole and served five months.
He was released in April and dropped his 4th studio ‘Championship’ in November where he shared his experience dealing with a what he called a flawed criminal justice system.
The new honour for Meek whose real name appears to be tied to his work in criminal justice reform.
Excited Meek Mill took to his Instagram handle to share pictures from the proclamation with a powerful caption. He wrote:
“Life is a roller coaster!#themotivationtour Houston gave me a meek mill day! 💪🏾🏆”
