Buhari Opens Early Lead In Saraki's Kwara (See Result)

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari, has taken an early lead in Kwara state following the February 23 Presidential and National Assembly elections in Nigeria.

The Nigerian leader and former vice president Atiku Abubakar are the leading candidates in the race for Nigeria’s highest office.

Buhari, according to results covering nine local government areas of the entire 16 in the state, won in eight councils,while Atiku has won in one local government so far.

In Asa, results announced so far show that the APC got 15,976 votes while the PDP polled 10,705. And in Oyun, the APC polled 11051 while the PDP got 4,904.

The APC candidate polled 6,662 in Ekiti local government, while Atiku got 5397.

But the PDP candidate got the better of Buhari in Oke-Ero local government as the
APC polled 6079 while the PDP polled 6242.

Buhari fought back with a win in Irepodun, polling 14395 to beat the PDP which polled 10232.

Also, Buhari won in Moro as the APC polled 17534 while the PDP polled 7598.

In Ilorin East, the APC secured 31,039 votes while the PDP got 12820 votes; and in Offa Local government, the APC trounced PDP by winning 23,685 votes to 4540, just as the ruling party won in Pategi Local government by picking 14791 votes, while the PDP got 3493.
