A former Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has refuted reports that he made a statement about the Biafra agitation in Nigeria.

Concise News understands that Nnamdi Kanu and the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are clamoring for a secession of the Southeast from the country.

Kanu and his outlawed group had called for a boycott of the 2019 elections and fixed a referendum on the same day as the presidential poll.

And Okonjo-Iweala was reported (not on Concise News) as speaking on the Biafran fight for secession.

She allegedly said she would help grow the Biafran economy if the dream is actualized.

However, in a tweet on her handle, the World bank chief noted that the report was untrue, describing it as “fake news.”

“DISCLAIMER,” she wrote.

“My attention has been drawn to a fake news making the rounds claiming I made a statement on Biafra. It is false and mischievous. Please disregard it. Thank you.”
