The Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) has adopted the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, as its choice for Feb. 16 election.
The movement led by Dapo Ajewole met in Abuja on Friday where the resolution to support the former Vice President was taken.
The motion for his adoption was moved by Dubem Onyia and was carried unanimously by delegates present.
In his address earlier, Lagos politician, Dapo Sarunmi, had lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for stopping the Lagos Metro rail in his time as military head of state.
He advised Nigerians to shun ex-military men who seek political power.
Atiku is the main challenger to Buhari who was elected under the All Progressives Congress in 2015, dislodging the then incumbent Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party.
INEC Had scheduled the presidential election for February 16, 2019.
