The gubernatorial candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, went ahead to urge them to monitor the 2019 general elections.
Wike, who spoke on Thursday during the Peoples Democratic Party campaign rally at Ngo, in the Andoni Local Government Area, explained that it was necessary for the international community to monitor the conduct of exercise so as to ensure credible elections.
Wike said, “We want to call on the international community not to be deterred by El-Rufai’s threat. They should monitor the elections. If anybody rigs, they should sanction Nigeria. They should impose sanctions on El-Rufai.”
Concise News had reported how the Kaduna State Governor threatened the U.S, U.K and E.U, asking them not to interfere in the Nation’s politics, else, go back in their “Body bags.”
El-Rufai had condemned the petitions sent to the US, the UK, the EU, Germany and France by the opposition, calling on the foreign countries to prevail upon Buhari not to derail the nation’s democracy.
“Those that are calling for everyone to come and intervene in Nigeria, we are waiting for the person that will come and intervene. They will go back in body bags. Because nobody will come to Nigeria and tell us how to run our country. We’ve got that independence and we are trying to run our country as decently as possible and we know the history of those countries that are trying to teach us these things; we have read their history. We also know that in their stages of development they went through these challenges.
“So, please, let’s work together; let’s advise one another but don’t lecture us.” He said.
