Several reactions have trailed the threat of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State to foreign observers to steer clear of the internal affairs of Nigeria.
The Kaduna governor also noted that if a crisis broke out in the country, the observers would not partake of it.
He said: “Those that are calling for anyone to come and intervene in Nigeria, we are waiting for the person that would come and intervene, they would go back in body bags.
“Because nobody will come to Nigeria and tell us how to run our country. We’ve got that independence and we are trying to run our country as decently as possible and we know the history of those countries that are trying to teach us these things; we have read their history. We also know that in their stages of development they went through these challenges.
“So, please, let’s work together; let’s advise one another but don’t lecture us.”
Moments after the video of the governor’s threat went viral, Nigerians took to Twitter to react to the threat.

Still on the El-Rufai and body bags threat – I think Nigerians excuse too many things in the name of politics and it’s wrong.
Politics should be engaged within limits and we shouldn’t excuse political killings or deathly statements like Hell-Ruffy made, in the name of politics.

The threat by Gov. El-Rufai that foreign powers that interfere in our elections would go back in "body bags" is troubling & sickening. Are we in a jungle here? Are we murderers? We must stop "leaders" who think they have the right to say & do anything. @elrufai Represent us well!

Can someone please tell Nasir El Rufai @elrufai to shut up! Just FREAKING shut up! You made a mistake. Apologise and move on! Stop digging yourself further in.
What the hell is the Venezuelan option?!
What intelligence do you have?
Intelligence that can't find Boko Haram? pic.twitter.com/GVXywmScaH

Is this madness? President @MBuhari if you don’t reject this evil, this fellow will bring your government into disrepute! Never in Nigeria’s history have we ever had such recklessness in a public official. I urge @OfficialAPCNg to publicly repudiate this https://t.co/9k02TSr16j

One of the greatest regrets in my life is to share a country with people who are devoid of the smallest modicum of honor: people who speak from both ends of their mouth; hypocrites. If Malam el-Rufai could say this in 2019 there’s nothing man can’t do for power pic.twitter.com/4LFvKg563p

YES, EL-RUFAI IS BIG-MOUTHED BUT INTELLIGENT
His statement must not be taken out of contexts. Question is "why would foreign soldiers interfere in our elections in the first instance"? Some Nigerians are lobbying for foreign invasion when election is yet to hold with evidence of pic.twitter.com/C6sYaMW34D

RIGGING IS BUHARI'S ONLY HOPE
But it will fail. Nigeria will burn if Buhari rigs. Obasanjo has already alerted the international community and the US, UK and European Union have already told Buhari he has to go. If Buhari rigs, he will be driven from power. Tell that to El Rufai.

Nasir El-Rufai talks about body bags, everybody goes bunkers. Nyesom Wike everyday threatens security agencies, electoral officers and almost everybody that they won't leave Rivers state alive during elections and everyone stays deaf and dumb. Welcome to #Nigeria.

Governor El Rufai should know that certain expressions should not be used as a public figure. The one about people "going back in body bags" is one of those. He needs to walk that back as soon as possible, it is highly reprehensible.

Now we wait for Dr. Joe Haba! To tell us how El-Rufai's comments are bad but can still be understood properly.
A finely balanced thread from the stable of Dr. Goebbels

As I watch and listen to the final stages of the a Presidential campaigns,APC is sounding and acting increasingly like a desperate group, intent on sowing division and discord, while PDP is trying to heal and unite.Just listen to the latest ravings from Lai and El Rufai. Strange.

Y’all deserve El Rufai. I hope he wins elections. He publicly swore to deal with Audu for a tweet, young Nigerians applauded. He buried Shiites, harassed columnists, Nigerian writer-hustlers wrote articles in his defense, oh savior of northern literature. Enjoy your body bags!

This El-Rufai man is a violent, murderous thug. He is always threatening murder & violence against political opponents. Thank goodness he became a governor, which has afforded us the opportunity to know him. Imagine this man with his homicidal tendencies as Nigeria's president! https://t.co/xjUXAAvRl0
