“The Honorable Commissioner of Niger State Ministry of Sports Development, Honorable Emmanuel Duza Babur, had approved the Niger Tornadoes Football Club Interim Coach in person of @Azeezcoach during a combined meeting of the Ministry Management and .@NigerTornadoes management,” a statement on the club’s Twitter handle read.

Ogbe had resigned after Tornadoes, who are on the floor of the Group A standings, suffered their third defeat, a 3-1 loss to Katsina United, in the current campaign on Sunday.

But with the shakeup of the Niger Tornadoes technical crew, Babur believes the club can rise to the top of the table.

Abarah’s technical members are Atuga Ndanusa, Isaiah and Sule Garuba.

“Coach Hamza Abarah will oversee the club technical crew as an interim head and I implore the team to work together and give him all the needed support in order to ensure that this club moves to the top of the league table,” Babur said.

Abarah will hope to secure the club’s first win when they take on Sunshine Stars at home on Wednesday.
