It was an embarrassing moment for former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho as he slipped after presenting a symbolic face-off to a match in Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League on Monday.

Concise News understands that the Portuguese was invited by the league side Avangard Omsk in Siberia to take part in promotional work for the club.

It was learned that Mourinho signed photographs ahead of the match with SKA Saint Petersburg.

But little did he know that an embarrassing moment was bound to happen.

The former Chelsea manager was helped back to his feet by Avangard’s former Detroit Red Wings centreman Pavel Datsyuk after the puck drop.

However, videos of the 56-year-old boss falling on a red carpet on the ice rink in Balashikha appeared on social media after the accident.

Mourinho was sent packing in December 2018 after two-and-a-half years in charge of the Red Devils, who were sixth in the Premier League at the time.

Under the Portuguese, the most successful club in the Premier League suffered their worst start to a campaign for 28 years.

Meanwhile, caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has lifted the side to fifth place in the league after recording eight wins in nine matches.

Below is a video of Mourinho’s fall as tweeted by Igor Eronko.
