Caverton Helicopters has blamed the crash-landing of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s aircraft on unusual weather conditions.
Concise News reports that the vice president on Saturday escaped death as his chopper crash-landed in Kabba, Kogi State.
According to a tweet by his spokesman, Laolu Akande, the chopper was conveying Osinbajo to a campaign rally in the state and all the occupants of the chopper are safe.
Akande said the vice-president continued on his campaign trip after the incident.
He wrote: “VP Osinbajo’s Chopper crash lands in Kabba, but he and the entire crew safe. He is continuing with his engagements and plans for the day in Kogi State.
“We give all the glory to God, our able protector and commend all the Flight Crew officials for their service. We are marching on for indeed we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us!”
Reacting to the incident, the owner of the crashed helicopter in an official statement on Sunday, said it is however still investigating the incident and it will support the authorities as required.
The company also confirmed that there were no injuries to the passengers or crew on board and they were all quickly and safely evacuated.
