Empire Star, Jussie Smollet Hospitalized After Homophobic Attack

Hollywood actor, Jussie Smollett has finally broken his silence after the homophobic and racist attack he had to endure earlier this week.

It was reported by the Police that a noose was found around the actor’s neck which led to him being hospitalized after the attack.

Concise News reported that he was allegedly attacked around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, by two men wearing ski masks who began yelling racial and homophobic slurs.

Following the attack, Chicago police released images of potential suspects involved in the attack on their Twitter page.

The police also stated that the two masked people were screaming “racial and homophobic slurs.”

They reportedly hit Smollett in the face, tied a noose around his neck, and “poured an unknown chemical substance” on him.

However, in an exclusive statement to ESSENCE, Smollett said, “Let me start by saying that I’m OK,” My body is strong but my soul is stronger. More importantly I want to say thank you. The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words. ”
