Some suspected thugs on Thursday invaded the Mandate Market in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital and chased away Trader Moni agents.
It was gathered that the Trader Moni agents were in the market to disburse money for the scheme to some petty traders – beneficiaries of the project.
The hoodlums were said to have stormed the market as early as 9am and insisted that the disbursement of funds for the Trader Moni Scheme will not hold.
Some of them claimed that the market was built in a piece of land donated by Senate President Bukola Saraki’s father.
The traders were annoyed by the development and vowed not to leave the place, causing more uproar until the police arrived the scene and restored nolmacy.
