2. Court Orders EFCC, DSS To Produce Diezani In 72 Hours

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to produce a former minister of petroleum Diezani Alison-Madueke, within 72 hours. Justice Valentine Ashi gave the order to all the security agencies to apprehend and arrest the former minister within 72 hours on Tuesday.

3. Catholic Church Condemns Mbaka Over Comment On 2019 Elections

The Catholic Church has lambasted the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, over his statements on the 2019 general elections. In a video that went viral on Monday, Mbaka was seen telling the vice presidential candidate of the PDP, Peter Obi, during the annual harvest and bazaar celebration of the church on Sunday, that neither the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, nor President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, would win the 2019 presidential election.

4. NASS Workers Disrupt Activities Over Unpaid Salaries Claim

National Assembly workers on Tuesday protested unpaid wages and lack of due promotion. Some of the staff claim that they are being owned wages as far back as 2010. The workers also accused their superiors of diverting funds meant for training.

The President had on Sunday in Krakow, Poland, during an interactive session with the Nigerian community in the country, denied the rumour that he is a clone.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has mocked reports that President Muhammadu Buhari died in London and was replaced as Jubril Al Sudani from Sudan. Speaking at a National Consultative Forum organised by the National Committee of Buhari Support Groups (NCBSG) in collaboration with Council for New Nigeria Initiative, the Vice President wondered how a certain Jubril from Sudan would be presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

7. Boko Haram Kills Eight Nigerian Soldiers In Yobe

Boko Haram fighters have killed eight Nigerian soldiers in a military base in Yobe state, northeast Nigeria, security sources said on Tuesday. It was learned that the terrorists, who are members of the Islamic State West Africa Province faction of Boko Haram, attacked the base on Saturday in Buni Gari village.

8. PDP Presidential Aspirant Threatens Legal Action Against Atiku

A Presidential aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Stanley Osifo, on Tuesday challenged Atiku Abubakar’s emergence as the party’s standard bearer for the 2019 election. He described Atiku’s emergence as an imposition, threatening a court action if in the next 48 hours the PDP did not address the issue on ground.
