Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) has suspended its two months strike.
Nuhu Ogirima, the President of the union, disclosed this on Wednesday at a briefing in Abuja after its expanded National Executive Council meeting.
The President said the suspension became necessary following reassurances from government to meet some of the key demands of the workers.
According to Ogirima, the suspension is to enable the government implement the agreements.
The COEASU President, however, said the union will reconvene in January to re-access the government’s commitment and will not hesitate to resume the strike if it reneges in the agreement.
