The founder of Living Faith Church worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, says it is possible that Nigeria is being recolonised by another African nation, referring to Nnamdi Kanu’s claim.

Oyedepo said this at his church auditorium in Otta, Ogun state, while commenting on the rumours that President Muhammadu Buhari is dead.

President Buhari had on Sunday in Krakow, Poland, denied the rumour that he is a clone.

The President was speaking at an interactive session with the Nigerian community in the country, where he is attending a climate change summit.

Since Kanu resurfaced, he has been alleging that President Buhari is an imposter whose real name is Jibril Aminu Al-Sudani from Sudan and not a clone.

But Buhari told the Nigerians living in the European nation that he would soon celebrate his 76th birthday, adding that “a lot of people hoped that I died during my ill health. Somebody just thought I am cloned, … it is real me I can assure you”.

Reacting to the rumour in a viral video on social media, Oyedepo quoted an article written by Olatunde Dare, a columnist of the Nation Newspaper, saying Buhari could have died when he sought medical treatment in London and that someone cloned as him, is currently presiding over Nigeria.

Referring to the piece, the clergyman said the Nigerian government entered an agreement with the family of one Jubril in Sudan to give them a replacement for Buhari and that the resources of the nation are now being shared with Sudan.

Dare, who is known for satire, taunted those propagating the rumour that Buhari had died in the piece Oyedepo quoted.

The journalist jocularly said representatives of the Jubril family showed up in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, and threatened to spill the beans if the federal government did not meet their demands.

Oyedepo said the federal government had refused to issue a statement, debunking what Dare wrote, fueling speculations that it could be true.

Concise News, however, reports that the clergyman made the statement before President Buhari addressed the rumour.
