The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has said that being a widow does not qualify Bianca Ojukwu, wife of late Biafra warlord Emeka Ojukwu, for the party’s ticket.
Bianca lost out in the race to pick the party’s ticket for Anambra South Senatorial district ahead of the 2019 elections.
The former beauty queen had, after losing out on the position, launched an attack on the party, especially the National Chairman, Victor Oye.
However, while speaking on the matter, Oye had told Bianca that the party had to be fair in the conduct of the primary for next year’s polls.
He spoke on Friday with the press and demanded “an apology for the misplaced and unwarranted attacks on me by the wife of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu.
“That she is a widow does not confer on her a special status. It is not in APGA constitution that once you are a widow, we give you a ticket.”
