Nigeria forward Francisca Ordega says the Super Falcons are determined to subdue South Africa to win a record ninth Africa Women’s Cup of Nations title in Ghana.

After qualifying for the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup, the two teams will face off on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium to determine which side would go to the tournament as champions.

Nigeria have never lost in the final of the competition. They have also never lost twice to the same side in an edition, and Banyana Banyana lost all their three previous final matches of which one was to Nigeria in year 2000.

But South Africa have had the better of the Falcons on two occasions – 1-0 semi-final win in 2012 and 1-0 win in the group phase in 2018 – meaning they know what it takes to defeat Nigeria.

And Ordega, who has netted two goals in the tournament, expects a strong challenge from the South Africans.

The Washington Spirit forward is, however, confident the defending champions would win the game.

”Ok the day is here already….Lord today, make my heart your heart..and my thoughts your thoughts..And failure will never overtake me and my teammates because our determination to succeed,” she tweeted on Saturday morning.
