The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has filed an application at the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The opposition party also wants the court to mandate the independent national electoral commission, INEC, not to recognise any candidate for the APC.
Ferdinand Oshoke-Orbih (SAN), a counsel to the PDP, asked the court for an accelerated hearing of the matter which was granted.
On his part, Emenike Ebete, a counsel to the APC, said the court will determine whether the PDP has the right to seek for injunctions in an issue that concerns only the APC.
The matter, which is before Justice J.K Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, was adjourned to December 11 for hearing.
