Liverpool and PSG take to the pitch in Paris on Wednesday night in a crucial Champions League game as the two seek victory to boost their chances of reaching the last 16.
Their previous meeting at Anfield ended 3-2 with Roberto Firmino scoring a late winner for the Reds. But the two sides trail Napoli, who occupy the roof of Group C.
PSG coach Thomas Tuchel believes key players Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will return from injury, and Jurgen Klopp’s defence will have to be at the top of their game.
Head to head
The two teams have met three times in Uefa competitions. The French side won once while the English club recorded two wins.
The teams met in the 1997 Uefa Cup Winners’ Cup semi-finals, with PSG winning 3-2 on aggregate after a 3-0 home win and a 2-0 defeat at Anfield.
The most recent meeting came in the reverse fixture of this season’s group stages. Firmino’s late goal was the decider. It ended 3-2, as earlier stated.
