President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, over one week after the killing of scores of Nigerian soldiers by a faction of terror group Boko Haram.

Concise News understands that the commander-in-chief is in the state to flag off the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) conference which begins Wednesday.

It was learned that during his visit, Buhari would meet the troops fighting insurgency in the northeast to boost their morale.

The conference was earlier planned to take place in Benin, the Edo state capital; but it was moved to Borno due to the killing of the soldiers in Metele area of Borno state on 18 November.
