Jude Ndukwe, the media aide to former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode, has condemned the arrest of human rights activist Prince Deji Adeyanju and others.
Adeyanju was arrested Wednesday alongside Daniel Abobama and Boma Williams and was taken to the FCT command of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), for onward arraignment in court.
Police in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Jimoh Moshoodsaid Adeyanju and his group of protesters have been charged with Criminal Conspiracy, Joint Act, defamation of character, public nuisance and sundry offenses.
Reacting in a post on Twitter, Ndukwe stated that the Nigerian Police have been badly politicized.
He wondered by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that have been accused of corruption are walking freely.
Ndukwe wrote: “The arrest of Adeyanju Deji is further confirmation that our Police have been badly politicized and bastardized.
“The nation is being driven further down the hill.
“Ganduje, Babachir Lawal and even Adams Oshiomhole cannot be walking free while innocent Nigerians like Adeyanju Deji freely expressing their rights are hounded with reckless brutality.
“This is why we say our police have been bastardized.”
