Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned the crisis rocking the Akwa Ibom State House Assembly.
Concise News had reported that the State Assembly was under siege on Tuesday four days after the police vacated the Assembly’s premises following an order from the Senate.
It was learned that five recently sacked lawmakers were escorted into the Assembly complex by thugs and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) who chased staff out of the complex.
Reacting in a post on his Twitter, Fani-Kayode described the move by five lawmakers to impeach the speaker of the House as unacceptable.
He wrote: “What is going on in Akwa Ibom right now is unacceptable.
“The Speaker of the State House of Assembly cannot be impeached by 5 lawmakers, violent thugs and fake policemen and the Governor will not be impeached either.
“I call on all lovers of democracy to resist this APC tyranny.”
