Senator Shehu Sani (PRP-Kaduna Central) has stated that Southeast leaders were right to demand representation in the defence structure of the country.
Governors of states in the southeast had called on President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint a service chief from the region.
According to the Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, Governor David Umahi, Nigeria’s security structure is not balanced.
And reacting via his Twitter handle, Sani wrote: “South East leaders demand for representation in the Apex of the defence structure of the nation is legitimate.
“A federation must live up to its concord and spirit.
“We must not be using merit in the day and federal character at night or merit for lunch and character for Dinner.”
