PDP Reacts To Invasion Of Akwa Ibom Assembly
Security agents spotted at the Assembly on Tuesday morning.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the invasion of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly by the five sacked lawmakers.

Concise News had reported earlier that five recently sacked lawmakers were escorted into the Assembly complex on Tuesday morning by thugs and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) who chased staff out of the complex.

Reacting to the development, the PDP called on Nigerians to rise in “condemnation of this heinous crime”, adding that the sacked lawmakers were sponsored by the former governor of the state, Godswill Akpabio to invade the assembly.

The PDP wrote on Twitter: “Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly under siege again. The former members of the State House of Assembly are back to the Assembly complex this morning. with heavily armed & thugs. We call on all Nigerians to rise in condemnation of this heinous crime

“Siege on Akwa Ibom State Assembly: The whole idea behind the recent onslaught by the Senator Godswill Akpabio’s sponsored sacked members of the state assembly is to cause mayhem, generate tension with a view to make the state ungovernable. This is criminal and unacceptable,” the tweet added.
