African champions Super Falcons of Nigeria will know their 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup opponents on 8 December, 2018, should they qualify for the competition in France.
The eight-time African champions have not missed out on the tournament since it started in 1991 in China.
They will confirm a place at the World Cup for the eighth time if they overcome Cameroon on Tuesday in the semi-finals of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana.
This year’s AWCON serves as qualifiers for the World Cup, with the top-three finishers getting the continent’s nod as representatives.
The other African countries vying for qualifying spots are South Africa, Cameroon and Mali.
