Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State on Friday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, in Abuja.
The delegation which was led by a former Governor of the state, Senator George Akume (APC-Benue North-West), pledged their support for the President and the ruling APC ahead of the 2019 general election.
Akume also reassured the President that he has the endorsement of the people of Benue, especially the poor and that was all he really needed.
The media aide of President Buhari, Femi Adesina, revealed this on Friday, via his Twitter handle, @FemiAdesina.
He tweeted, “Sen George Akume to PMB: The endorsement of Mr President by the majority of our people, especially the poor ones, is the real endorsement…In Benue, the narrative has changed.”
The APC chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed and the Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh and other top government officials were at the meeting.
