Host nation Ghana have crashed out of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations after playing a 1-1 draw with Cameroon on Friday in Accra.
The Black Queens needed a win to confirm their place in the semi-finals, after losing 2-1 to Mali on the back of their 1-0 victory over Algeria in the opening match of the eight-nation tournament.
They went in front through Portia Boakye in the first half, but the Cameroonians responded before half time.
Christine Manie converted a spot kick for the Lionesses, who had alsready qualifoed for the last four, as they finished on the roof of Group A with seven points from three games.
Mali joined last edition’s runners-up in the semis with a 3-2 win over Algeria.
They will know their semi-final opponents on Saturday when defending champions Nigeria take on Equatorial Guinea, while South Africa, who have already qualified, battle Zambia.
