The self-acclaimed leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has challenged the Federal Government of Nigeria to refute his allegations that President Muhammadu Buhari is “dead”.
Kanu, who resurfaced in Jerusalem, Israel on 19 October after the military invasion of his community in Abia state, made this call on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
Concise News reports that since the IPOB leader resurfaced, he has been alleging that President Buhari is an imposter whose real name is Jibrin Aminu Al-Sudani from Sudan.
Reechoing his earlier claims during a live broadcast last week, the vocal pro-Biafra activist stressed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) do not know President Buhari’s alleged imposter.
“The question we are asking this very evening is this, who is presiding over the leadership of Nigeria in Aso Rock?
“Democracy is voting for somebody you believe in but this man is from Sudan (referring to President Buhari)… APC doesn’t know him, PDP does not know him either so how come he is there? Because four or five people led by Abba Kyari said he must be there and we are Fulani, we own the army, we own the judiciary, we own the security, in fact, we are in every department in the country, you can’t do anything to us,” he had said.
Days after the broadcast, the IPOB leader, who doubles as the director of radio Biafra, called on the Federal Government to come up with evidence to prove that the President is not dead as touted by him.
He wrote: “My key allegation against the presidency over Jubril has not been refuted till date. If Buhari-Jubril attended the event at Arc de’Triomphe in Paris, release a common video to prove me wrong. They can’t because Buhari is dead & never went to Paris.
“Importing a man from Sudan to assume the highest office in the land is an unforgivable betrayal of a people’s trust. Pimping out Aisha to Jubril is a crime against Allah. No wonder Jubril referred to Aisha as Mrs Buhari. Islamic clerics condoning this act are evil,” he tweeted.
