Thomas Dennerby has assured Nigerians that the Super Falcons will get the better of Equatorial Guinea in a crucial 2019 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations game on Saturday.
The defending champions bounced back from a shocking defeat to South Africa with an impressive 4-0 spanking of Zambia in a Group B match on Wednesday.
Desire Oparanozie, Francisca Ordega, Rashidat Ajibade and Amarachi Okoronkwo got the goals for the eight-time African champions.
The win put Nigeria on three points, three adrift of leaders South Africa, who massacred Equatorial Guinea 7-1, while Zambia are one step behind the Nigerian ladies.
A win for the Falcons on Saturday will confirm their place in the semi-finals.
The Swede, therefore, expects his team to be ruthless against the two-time winners as third-placed Zambia, who take on neighbours Banyana Banyana same day, still have a chance of reaching the last four.
“We hope to keep getting better and better….and hope to have our best performance so far tomorrow (Saturday),” Dennerby said after training on Friday.
