Eagles prepare for South Africa clash (image courtesy NFF)

Former Nigeria international Mutiu ”headmaster” Adepoju says the Super Eagles have already qualified for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

Nigeria take on South Africa on Saturday in a crucial Group E qualifier in Johannesburg with the hope of sealing a place in next year’s football festival in Cameroon.

The three-time African champions, who occupy the roof of Group E standings on nine points from four matches, need at least a point to confirm their place in the neighbouring central African country.

But they are up against second-placed Bafana Bafana, who are not devoid of confidence having stunned Nigeria 2-0 in Uyo in the group opener.

And Adepoju, who won the Afcon title in 1994, tweeted his support for the team, saying: ”All the best to our darling @NGSuperEagles today against Bafana Bafana. You are in Cameroon already.”

Nigeria missed out on the last two editions after winning the title for the third time in South Africa in 2013.
