South Africa will give the Super Eagles a run for their money when the sides face off in Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Johannesburg, says ex-Eagle Geroge Finidi.
The three-time African champions lost 2-0 to Bafana in their opening Group E game in Uyo in July 2017.
But the Nigerians responded with three back-to-back wins, against Seychelles and Libya, to take charge of the group on nine points, one above second-placed South Africa.
“Nigeria is playing with lots of confidence and I believe they’ll win on Saturday,” Finidi told sports daily SportingLife.
“South Africa always want to beat Nigeria especially after their victory in Uyo – that’s why they’ll fight till the end but the Super Eagles will have an edge at the end.”
