Aldyr Garcia Schlee, the man who designed the Brazilian football team’s famous yellow shirt, has died at the age of 83.

Concise News understands that Schlee, who was a designer, journalist and writer, had been diagnosed with skin cancer.

Before Schlee designed the yellow jersey, Brazil used to play in white.

And he was only 18 years old when he submitted his design to a national competition launched after the South American nation’s home defeat in the 1950 World Cup.
