Nigeria should be confident of getting the better of South Africa in Johannesburg on Saturday as the Super Eagles have never lost a competitive match to Bafana Bafana away from home.

The crucial Group E 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier will be played at the elegant FNB Stadium at 2pm Nigerian time.

The three-time African champions lead the group on nine points from four games, while Bafana Bafana are one point adrift, with Libya and Seychelles on four and one respectively.

Bafana are hoping to record another win over the Eagles, having shocked the Nigerians with a 2-0 win in Uyo last year.

But past games between these two former African champions show that Nigeria have only lost twice to South Africa, but one of the loses was a friendly game played in honour of Nelson Mandela in 2004.
