Reno Omokri has stated that if the leader of Shiites, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, can be fed with N35 million monthly, then President Buhari should release funds to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed had said the Federal Government spends N3.5 million monthly to feed the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) El-Zakzaky and his wife.
Concise News also reported that the statistician-general of the federation Yemi Kale had said the federal government has not released money for the NBS to complete the unemployment report.
The development has become a topic of discussion with Kale and the NBS been accused of hoarding the figures, in order not to damage the reputation of President Muhammadu Buhari administration going into an election year.
Reacting in a post on his Twitter handle, Omokri assured Yemi Kale that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would back him if he releases figures against the present administration.
He wrote: “If the Buhari admin can afford ₦35 million monthly to feed Zakzaky, then they can afford to release funds for NBS to perform its statutory duty of releasing the nation’s job report.
“Don’t worry Yemi Kale, we have your back as you expose this clueless government.”
