Former Real Madrid midfielder Santiago Solari has been appointed as the club’s permanent coach until June 2021, the European champions announced on Tuesday.
Madrid confirmed Solari’s appointment in a brief statement on their website.
The 42-year-old took over last month on an interim basis after the dismissal of Julen Lopetgui.
Under the Argentine, the Los Blancos have won four straight games, the best start of any manager in the club’s history.
Solari was confirmed as permanent boss because Spanish rules prevent an interim coach from staying in charge for longer than two weeks.
