Former Presidential New Media aide Reno Omokri has condemned Nigerians praying for the death of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The self-acclaimed leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, had alleged that Buhari is an imposter whose real name is Jibrin Aminu Al-Sudani from Sudan.
Giving a reason for his claims, the pro-Biafra activist, who came out of hiding in October after the military invasion of his community in Abia State, southeast Nigeria, last year, said the President’s hands do not look like that of Buhari in 2017.
He claimed Buhari had died during his medical vacation to the United Kingdom last year.
Captioning two pictures he uploaded on Twitter, Kanu said President Buhari’s hands were shrunk and shriveled in 2017 compared to that of his alleged imposter.
Reacting in a post on Twitter, Omokri stated that he prays for Buhari not to die.
He said: “Opposition is not madness! Why are you wishing a fellow creation of God dead?
“I wish Buhari is defeated in 2019, but I pray for him not to die.
“May he live a full life to see Atiku do for Nigeria what he couldn’t for us in Jesus’ name.”
