Senator Shehu Sani (PRP-Kaduna Central) has mocked the federal government for disobeying court orders.
The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has been accused of disobeying court orders to release some prominent individuals in its custody.
Courts have ordered the release of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (INM), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki and many others.
In a post on his Twitter page, the lawmaker described the government’s selective obedience to a court order only when it favors them as “institutional proclivity to persecution and tyranny”
Shehu Sani wrote: “When the state is in a hurry to comply with a court order that orders for an arrest and detention of citizens and its hesitant in complying with the court order that orders for an immediate release of its detainees, it only exposes its institutional proclivity 2 persecution and tyranny.”
