Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze grabbed his first league goal in his professional career as Villarreal and Rayo Vallecano played out a 2-2 draw on Sunday.
The 19-year-old winger, was only making his second LaLiga appearance, after scoring his first ever senior goal in the Yellow Submarine’s Copa Del Rey draw with Almeria on November 1.
Chukwueze, who was handed his first senior call-up to the Nigeria national team by Gernot Rohr for the upcoming African Cup of Nations Qualifier against South Africa, opened the scoring on Sunday in the 33rd minute.
Goals from Raul De Tomas and Alvaro Garcia put the hosts back in control of the game but substitute Nicola Sansone’s strike ten minutes from time salvaged a point for Javier Calleja’s men.
Just as on his league debut last week, Chukwueze played for the entire duration of the game.
Since his promotion from the reserves, the dynamic left-footed former U17 World Cup forward has played six games across all competitions, racking up 377 minutes so far.
